About
22 attended a tour of the facility at Ramona airport where Michael Oten, Ben Barackman
and Scott Hazel are building the Wright Flyer, using materials and technology
of 1902. Mike Oten presented the reproduction, described how construction methods
and materials were as close as possible to those the Wrghts used. This was followed
by a good question and answer session.
The
H-21 Flying Banana Following
the Wright Flyer visit we toured the beginning aircraft of the Rotor Aircraft
Restoration Facility. They are forming a flying museum with several one of a kind
flyable antique helicopters, like the H-21 Flying Banana.

An informative
briefing on the reproduction Wright Flyer The
Wrights validated their theories of airfoil design and flight control with the
1902 glider. Therefore the glider is one of the most significant aircraft in the
history of aviation. When completed (about October 2003), this reproduction will
be on permanent display in the San Diego Aerospace Museum.
