Honors & Awards
This is the time of year when AIAA recognizes outstanding individuals in the San Diego aerospace community. The AIAA San Diego Section invites you to use this opportunity to showcase your great talent. San Diego has a rich aerospace tradition, it is our duty and challenge to nourish and enhance this legacy of excellence for those who will follow.
To this end, a group of volunteers is organizing our annual Awards Banquet Gala where we present awards honoring the local aerospace community, outstanding projects from the San Diego Science Fair and the winners of our Reuben H. Fleet Scholarships.
The awards and the nomination procedure is described in the attached Word document, which is duplicated below. The nomination procedure is very informal. All we need is a brief description of the awardee and their accomplishments.
If you have someone in your charge who is already competing for another award, it is perfectly acceptable to use that existing nomination package, verbatim. The same is true if you have submitted a nomination to us in the past.
The first five awards listed below are open to everyone. By all means, feel free to nominate people for the other five awards at the bottom of the list, but they are limited to AIAA members.
Some past San Diego recipients of AIAA awards are listed at the bottom of this page. Thank you for your effort in this matter.
